About the event
Join instructor Don Shuler for a wheel-throwing workshop focused on creating bottle neck forms. This class is designed for intermediate potters who are comfortable centering and throwing basic forms on the wheel. Don will demonstrate techniques for successfully pulling and shaping narrow necks, controlling form and proportion, and creating taller narrower forms. Participants will have time to practice these techniques and develop their own pieces during the workshop.
Workshop Details
● July 18th: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM - Demonstrations and guided throwing.
● Optional Work Time July 19th: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM - Studio time to continue working on bottle forms.
● Skill Level: Intermediate (Must have basic wheel throwing experience)
● Materials: Stoneware clay will be provided
Firing & Finishing
● Pick-up: Potters are welcome to pick up their work after the bisque firing.
● Optional Glazing: Participants who would like to glaze their pieces may arrange a time to return during regular retail hours to apply glaze before the final firing.
