Pet Portrait: Hand-Building
Sculpt a clay portrait of your favorite pet in this fun two-part workshop. You’ll shape your animal in clay, then return to paint it with colorful underglazes and bring it to life. No experience needed.

About the event
Create a one-of-a-kind clay portrait of your favorite animal in this two-part workshop. Participants will sculpt a small recreation of their own pet, or any animal they choose, using simple handbuilding and sculpting techniques. In the second session, you’ll bring your piece to life by painting it with underglaze, adding color and personality to match your pet.
This workshop is beginner friendly and no clay experience is required. We’ll guide you through the process step by step.

Workshop Details
● Day 1 June 20th: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM - Sculpting the animal portrait.
● Day 2 June 27th: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM - Painting with underglaze and adding color and detail.
● Skill Level: Beginner friendly. No experience required.
● Project: Each participant will sculpt and decorate one animal portrait.
Firing & Finishing
● Glazing: Firebrick Pottery will apply a clear glaze and kiln fire the sculptures after the workshop.
● Pick-up: Finished pieces will be ready for pickup about 6–8 weeks after the workshop.
